Egripment Joystick Control for Freefly Mövi Gimbals and Remote Heads

Based on our well-known and industry proven Joysticks Controls, Egripment developed a Joystick control for the uprising demand for the use of Freefly Systems Mövi XL and Mövi Pro stabilized remote heads.

The focus was set to ergometry for the Broadcast World. Full Head axis control and control of the Mövi attached Lens Motors via classic Zoom and Focus demands are available, as well optional Iris Control. All features and functions of the Freefly Mövi API were implemented.

The control offers a simple touch screen display for all axis adjustments, such as speed and reverse plus classic manual input rotary knobs.

The Roll Axis can be adjusted simply by a rotary knob or can be used with full operational control via an optional foot paddle, giving maximum operational freedom to the operator.

Part of the Joystick control is a unique Ethernet/UDP based data connection to the Mövi Pro and XL Head. A small adapter is placed at the Remote head and offers a full Network and IP based signal architecture. This enables the user to route the control signal via existing networks, such as the IP-Trunks of modern Broadcast cameras from Grass Valley or Sony.

The Egripment Joystick Control for Mövi Remote Head works with any Mövi Head from Firmware Version 1.3 and higher, whereas Version 2 (Blackjack) is recommended.
