Description
Mo-Sys RoboJib – Robotic Camera Jib for Broadcast, AR and Virtual Production
Bring movement, depth and energy to your production with the Mo-Sys RoboJib, a robotic camera jib designed for smooth, repeatable sweeping shots and 360° coverage. Combining single-operator control, a payload capacity of up to 20 kg and fully encoded motors, RoboJib gives broadcasters a versatile platform for dynamic camera movement in studios and at live events.
From wide establishing shots to flowing transitions around presenters and performers, RoboJib helps turn camera movement into part of the storytelling. Its support for augmented reality graphics and virtual production makes it equally relevant to conventional broadcast sets and productions that combine physical environments with digital content.
Four-Axis Movement with Programmable Precision
RoboJib offers four axes of movement, combining jib and remote-head motion for flexible camera positioning. Its encoded column motors make movements and camera positions programmable and repeatable, while supplying precise tracking data.
With a 2.5 m jib length, a column height range of 0.5–2 m and jib pan/tilt speeds of 30° per second, RoboJib provides a defined motion platform for news studios, music and sports events, film shoots and commercial productions.
Integrated B20 Remote Head for Quiet Camera Control
A pre-installed Mo-Sys B20 remote head delivers zero-backlash movement and quiet operation through optimised gear drives, making it suitable for sound-sensitive studio environments.
The B20 was developed for virtual sets and long-term television studio installations. Its built-in axis encoders provide tracking information for augmented graphics and virtual backgrounds, while its responsive drive system supports precise pan and tilt control. For productions using virtual scenery, the head’s tracking capabilities help connect physical camera movement with the digital scene.
Camera Tracking for Broadcast AR and Virtual Production
RoboJib’s fully encoded system incorporates tracking data from Mo-Sys StarTracker technology to support accurate AR placement in live camera feeds. Its specified VR encoder resolution exceeds two million counts per revolution, providing detailed motion data for virtual production workflows.
Shotbox Control for Repeatable Production Workflows
The Mo-Sys Shotbox interface controls jib and head pan/tilt alongside lens zoom and focus. Available for a touchscreen PC or as a standalone single-operator console, it lets operators store and recall positions from one interface.
